Event Planner
Monique Henderson is Owner/Operator of MoHen Associates LLC, a Michigan-based woman-owned business that specializes in event planning and program management for corporate and non-profit organizations. She is the founder of CIGARDEN, a mobile cigar service that educates and cultivates great cigar experiences. In 2019 she along with a business partner opened The Loft Cigar Lounge located in Farmington, MI.
Ms. Henderson has over 20 years of experience in event planning and execution, sponsorship fulfillment, multi-cultural and cause marketing as well as program management. Her client list includes such companies and organizations as Ford Motor Company, Denso International, and the Southfield-Area Chamber of Commerce, to name a few.
Through formal education and experience she has built a career as an independent event consultant with the ability to work individually or with a team to plan and coordinate various types of events ranging from small intimate gatherings, large scale galas to event marketing initiatives.
For over 10 years she enjoyed a career with a Michigan-based marketing and communications firm. There, she began as an intern elevating to Account Director of Civic & Community Outreach where she managed a team that worked to execute Ford Motor Company Funds community programs. Ms. Henderson’s experience also includes a position with then Ford Motor Company’s advertising agency of record. During her time there she led the account team that managed Ford’s Parts & Service marketing initiatives in numerous international markets including the Middle East, Asia Pacific, and parts of Sub Saharan Africa and the Caribbean.
Her current goals include expanding her client base to include businesses in various parts of the country, while at the same time creating opportunities for women and minorities interested in the event marketing industry.
A native of Delaware, she holds an A.S. in Hotel & Restaurant Management and a B.S. in Hospitality Sales & Meeting Management from Johnson & Wales University based in Providence Rhode Island.
